LiFePO4 is a fancy name for a new battery chemistry, that combines
the light weight of lithium batteries, with exceptional long life,
safety, environmental neutrality (no battery is truly
enviro-friendly, but some are a lot less haramful than others), and
low-temperature operation ability.
This battery comes at a price premium, but easily pays for itself
over the long haul (see our FAQ for a
comparison of battery chemistries and their lifetime cost
effectiveness). It is estimated that under normal operation,
this battery will last approximately 25,000 miles or more if
properly cared for*. That's a lot of miles on a bike! Nothing lasts
forever, especially not batteries, but these last almost
forever.

Features
• The battery comes with a rail that can be mounted to a bike rack, with a locking mechanism and key. You can unlock the battery, slide it off, and take it inside to charge in a matter of seconds. No wires to mess with.
•The battery has a built-in state of
charge meter that lets you know how much juice is left.
• The Almost Forever Battery has
sophisticated protective circuitry that prevent under-discharge and
over current, in addition to balancing out cell voltages to extend
life

Technical Details
•Two configurations: 24 Volt and 36 Volt•24 Volt has 9.6 AH capacity.
•36 Volt has 7.5 AH capacity.
•Each weighs in at just under 10 pounds.
•Continuous current is limited to ~22Amps by battery protection circuitry. It can spike higher to >30A for brief periods. As with any battery, running it
for long periods at high current reduces battery life.
•Minimum operating temp: -5 degrees Fahrenheit
• Warranty: 2 years from date of purchase. Warranty void if battery is opened, tampered with, short circuited, or not stored in charged condition.
• Custom charger available.
