Surly's Big Dummy frameset is the platform for the ultimate Sports Utility Bicycle. This is a frame designed from the ground up as a long-tail bike. It handles and performs incredibly well.
Accepts all Xtracycle plug in components, including footsies, the longtail accessory kit, etc.
There are still no 20" frames, but we have 2 18" and one 16" available.
Note on shipping: due to it's large size, shipping can be expensive. We will adjust shipping for your part of the country. Please contact us for costs.

SRAM X.7 Build kit for Big Dummy

An example build kit for the Big Dummy (not including labor). This 27-speed kit is based on Sram X.7 components, with solid Alex DH-19 disc compatible rims, Avid BB7 disc brakes, Kenda Komfort tires, suspension seatpost, and the Xtracycle goodies like freeloader panniers and snap deck. Everything you need to set up a Surly Big Dummy. Click on details for more info. We may need to substitute equivalent or better parts depending on availability at the time of order, but we will check with you.

Xtracycle Longtail Accessory kit

The Xtracycle Longtail Accessory Kit.
These are the "must have" components for a Big Dummy build, or if you have a bare Xtracycle frame on your bike. Includes: V-racks (pannier supports), freeloaders (large panniers), and snap deck (wooden platform for passengers, gear, etc). Note that if you select the Cycle 9 SRAM X.7 build kit, this Xtracycle kit is already included.
