An example build kit for the Big Dummy. The base price for this kit is for parts only and does not include build labor. This 27-speed kit is based on SRAM X.7 components, with solid Alex DH-19 disc-compatible rims, Avid BB7 disc brakes, Kenda Komfort tires, suspension seatpost, and the Xtracycle goodies like freeloader panniers and snap deck. Everything you need to set up a Surly Big Dummy.

Build Kit Contains:

• SRAM X.7 twist shifters (trigger shifter upgrade available for $20 more)
• Dimension C bar
• Truvativ 110mm stem
• Alex DH-19 rims and KT Disc hubs

We may substitute equivalent or better parts depending on availability at the time of order. We will check with you before doing so.

Xtracycle Big Dummy Build Labor:

We can build it for you for $120 labor, or you can have a qualified bicycle mechanic do the build. To add labor, choose "Cycle 9 Build" from the options below. This will include frame prep and assembly of all components. Note that this is a discounted labor rate, available only for those folks who order a Big Dummy frameset and component kit from us in the same order. Our normal shop rate is $40 per hour, and the Big Dummy build takes about 4.5 hours.
