Old football injuries and age (65) have combined to limit my enjoyment of my favorite recreational exercise and workout vehicle---30 to 50 mile bike rides over hilly terrain. My recumbent bike, at 35 lbs., made hills difficult to negotiate without my knees hurting both during and after the ride. In addition I could never keep up with my friends without knee pain and exhaustion.
Then I came across Cycle 9 and one of the owners Elise. She recommended the EZEE hub motor kit for my bike, helped me tailor it to my bike for mounting, shipped it, and then kept in touch by phone and email to answer my questions about installation---though the motor was so easy to install there were very few questions necessary.
My whole biking life has been transformed by the EZEE motor. I can ride anywhere, over any terrain, keeping up with the strongest riders, and still getting all the workout I want. Using the motor as an assist for hills primarily, and ocassionally as an assist to stay with my speedy friends, I can usually cover 60 to 90 miles on one charge.
Having shopped carefully and talked to many electric bike motor dealers, I found Elise and Cycle 9 to be the most helpful, eager to please, committed to me as a customer of any dealer that I contacted. That is why she got my business. I have a bunch of same age friends who are now planning on adding a motor from Cycle 9 to their bikes in the Spring in order to extend their riding days far into the future.
If you are considering an electric assist motor, save yourself some time and effort and call Cycle 9. I live on the West Coast----and that made no difference at all in the quality of service. They truly do service what they sell, say what they will do and do what they say. In today's world that is an uncommon experience most places. But not at Cycle 9.
